Charged by Police, what should I do?

First you need to decide about money, you must need to organize the fund you need to pay a solicitor. First thing any lawyer will check is, if you have fund to cover the legal cost, either by yourself or your family member or by Legal Aid (Click here to Learn about Legal Aid). One thing to remember, usually solicitors will not accept one’s own fund if they can not be sure that the fund was not obtained by any unlawful activity.

Case study

An individual was charged for fraudulent conduct. Her employer complained to police that she has been taking money from company account without employer’s consent. She never had any criminal record in her 55 years life. She plead guilty and one the main reason was that she did not have enough fund available to take the case to higher trial to defend it.
