What is PreText Phone Call?
Pretext phone call is a tool that police uses in to investigate and sometime to obtain confessions. Usually it is very effective and most often being used for sexual offence.
An Example – a person complaining that you have sexually assaulted or had sex with the person without consent. He or she might go to police to lodge a complaint. Police will ask her to call you to talk about it which they will record. During the conversation, if you indicate that the complainant may be saying truth, even if not the whole truth, police can use that as evidence. Later police will come to interview you, ask you about it, you will most likely deny. At the time police will play the recording and say to you, “you have mentioned here that she is telling truth, what is it about?”
